Hey gang,
This is something I've been wondering about for a long time. (I spend too much time wondering!)
When you know message board members on a more personal basis, or even if you only know their first names, and these people have already revealed their true first names, but they have a different screen name, is it appropriate to address the person by their true first name? I've done both, but then I think to myself... "Gee, I hope so-and-so isn't mad because I used their real name instead of their screen name.." or "I hope so-and-so isn't miffed because I used the screen name when we're on a first-name basis any other time."
Just something to leave you all with as I depart for home this Friday evening. Have a good weekend, everyone!
Sandi (Idnas71) Either one is fine with me! |

I don't have a problem with it,lol that is why I changed my sn to my real name. I got bored of using mpnut and it seemed everyone knew my name. I think we choose our sn's for the fun of it, most of the time. But I feel in a more relaxed setting, among friends, even if online friends, it's fine by me to use my real name. |

No problem with me either, it's Kellee (pronounced Kelly).
I used to be really secretive about my first name, and even more secretive about my last name. But now that I write for a baseball site, I guess I don't feel as if I need to be so uptight. I'm still pretty secretive about my last name- I won't come out and spill it. But if someone discovers it from my articles, so be it. I just google myself every once in awhile to make sure none of my personal info (phone #, etc.) appears where it shouldn't. |

I don't mind at all if people use my real name and not CgrGrl. I should clarify that since my first name is Deborah. That's just wrong and I'm far too spunky to be a Deborah. Most people call me Deb. |

As you may have already seen nearly everyone calls me K, Kristin, Princess, or PER. Any of the four is fine with me. I don't mind if people know my first name and I so no reason to keep it a secret. With so many Kristins in the world it'll be hard for someone to track me down with just my first name to go by.
Princess Elisabeth Rimmer is actually the name of a character I created for some very bad Red Dwarf fan fictions I wrote several years back. When I first started using ezboard it was for a Chris Barrie (Arnold Rimmer on Red Dwarf) appreciation site so I chose PER as my name. And since I had a global account the name came with me to any ezboard site I posted on. I typically try to choose a screen name that has nothing to do with the board as a way to show my other interests so my choosing PER for the CB board was well out of character and I still don't know quite why I did it |

I don't care either.
I have many screen names. RDR is my original name and my favorite.
The name I use in my real life is Jeannie. That is not my given name but that will never be shared here. I hate it! _________________ Go Pads and Angels in 2010 |

I don't care either way. People either call me Carla or Goof. Heck I even have an M's Jersey with "GOOF" on the back. |
