I wanted to thank people for their thoughts and prayers for Faith's dad as he underwent his heart surgery last Thursday. They replaced two heart valves and repaired a leaking leaflet. He got out of ICU the very next day and was sent home from the hospital yesterday. He is doing well. Some shortness of breath and a cough from fluid but that is all normal. Fortunately I don't think he feels well enough yet to walk to the store down the street as he was telling Faith he was going to do! She made some meals for him and packaged them up for his freezer and did some grocery shopping for him to stall him trying to walk to the store. He does have a car but isn't suppose to drive himself for two weeks and he has always been a big walker so Faith is keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't decide to take off walking thinking he is better than he really is!
Faith is staying with him a couple of days and nights at his house. Paige stayed overnight with me last night and will again tonight. With her and the pup it is like having two toddlers around instead of one
Faith and I want you all to know how much it has meant Linda to have Mike on your church prayer list. Thank you so very much!! _________________ "If you had a son it would be a great thing for him to grow up to be just like Gil Hodges" -Pee Wee Reese (Brooklyn Dodgers) |

I am so glad to hear that! I will update that and let everyone know. Sounds like things are improving in many areas. Of course I'm sure he is still grieving but at least he will be okay. Thank you for the report. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I was glad to hear this news too. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |
