I wrote about Ryan Vogelsong retiring a couple of weeks ago; now it's another Jints pitcher who is calling it a career.

Matt Cain threw his final game on Saturday, as the Battery Chuckers lost to the Padres at AT&T Park, to wrap up his 13-season career, all of it spent with San Francisco. It is also the longest by any player exclusively spent with the Jints in S.F. history. Cain turned 33 on Sunday.

His final W-L numbers were 104-118 over 342 starts, highlighted by pitching for three Jints championship teams, and he pitched a perfect game against Houston on June 13, 2012.

(I did not realize until reading the linked article that his was the only perfect game in franchise history.)

Job well-done (said through clenched teeth)...although I liked him a lot better earlier in his career when he was 0-8 vs. the Dodgers.

Twisted Evil
