Well, just getting this one up and out there as we're just 11 days away from Opening night, 2018!

I'll try to post as much information previewing key teams as we prepare for a new season!

Somewhere in this thread something should be said about our "other" local team you do not hear much about. That was because they were not competing with the big boys for so long. But now the UCSD Tritons have joined the Big West and Division I baseball! Well it will not really be until 2020, but I am pretty sure it was not posted about here. So we will have 3 DI teams to watch with some pretty good teams coming into town! They are excited not just about the better competition they will get (I am excited to see it, too) but also about how their recruitment will go since they lose "brainy" student-athletes to Cal & Stanford.

This news was announced in November and this article is from the Union Tribune

Thanks for the reminder! Of course I knew it, but the article explains in detail why this is important.

First pitch coming up from the campus of the University of San Diego!

This weekend we will be up for the Tony Gwynn tournament. First games of the season since we couldn't make it last weekend.

I would love to try to get to see the Dodgertown Classic, too.

Wondered if anyone else read about that wacky game between Virginia and William & Mary yesterday? They combined 6 pitchers for a no-hitter that went 11 innings. Those pitchers were not exactly sharp either as you can tell from the game report. Article from mlb.com

Yeah, thanks for posting about that! I've been somewhat absent over the last few days due to my trip to the Academy. Once these awards are over, I'm back on it with baseball!

The Aztecs got thumped pretty bad on the road in Arizona, on Tuesday night. Still, they have an 8-4 record. They will play at home this weekend against Air Force. We plan to go to Saturday's game.

We will see how long SDSU can hang in there. Over on the bay side of the city, the Toreros won 7 of 8 games in the first 2 weeks of the season but then cooled down. I was there for the game at Fowler Park when the Aztecs beat them, 9-3, last week.

Thanks for keeping this updated. I feel bad that I have not attended many games so far this year. It used to be what got me through February and March until Padres season started. I enjoyed seeing the Aztecs get off to a good start, but they hit a rough patch since then.
