Well, I guess you know you're getting old when Shane Victorino is the MVP of the HOF Classic Game--LOL! Smile You can tell from the list of participants that while many are Hall of Famers, many are also nowhere close. Like Kevin Gross? Nick Punto? Players from all 30 MLB teams were represented. How this happened I'm not sure, but some college player from New York worked himself into the lineup of one of the teams.

Anyway, the annual seven-inning exhibition game was played yesterday in Cooperstown, New York, before a crowd of over 5,000.

From the Baseball Hall of Fame:

Quote:
(Victorino led) Team Knucksies, skippered by Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers, to a 6-0 victory over an Ozzie Smith-managed Team Wizards in a legends game played at historic Doubleday Field on Saturday afternoon. Hall of Famers Goose Gossage, Eddie Murray, Gaylord Perry and Tim Raines served as coaches.

Longtime MLB infielder Nick Punto called his experience “incredible,” adding, “It’s Disneyland for adults that love baseball, without a doubt. They do a great job here, and it’s not just about the Hall of Famers. You can walk around and see some pretty cool moments from guys like my friend Michael Cuddyer, who I’ve already seen like three times in exhibits in the museum.”
