First win against a hot "A"s team last night in Oakland.

3-2 loss. Sad

Now on to Colorado, where the first of four games gets underway later today.

Ugh! The one good thing about Coors Field is that "no lead is safe", so even blowing one allows time to come back. Dodgers win, 8-5!

Damn. Sad Dodgers lose, 5-4, to a hometown boy--Ryan McMahon, whose home run was the difference in the game. Sad

Stretch run or stretch meltdown? Dodgers lose three of four to Rockies. They were in all four games. Two games were won on walk-offs.

Back on the road again!

The Dodgers opened a series in Seattle in fine form, finding their offense and concurrently holding the Mariners to only one run, as L.A. won, 11-1.

Like a repeat of Friday night, but with CK on the mound.

Back out on the road for all of two games in Texas!

The Dodgers beat the Rangers tonight, 8-4, extending their winning streak to four games. They'll play one more at Globe Life Park tomorrow, then return to L.A. with less than 24 hours to go before a key four-game set gets underway vs. the Diamondbacks.

The good:

-The Dodgers scored eight runs off Rangers pitching;

-Walker Buehler started for L.A., pitched through the sixth, and allowed only two runs on four hits.

-Pedro Baez continued a string of scoreless innings, looking more and more effective and confident than he has all season long.

The bad:

-KJ is still ineffective. He came into the game in a non-save situation (8-2 lead in the ninth) and surrendered two runs.

The Dodgers managed to take the series in Colorado, to my surprise, but as a series in Cincinnati gets underway, all eyes will be on the Diamondbacks-Rockies series this week.

Of course this team is giving me angst! When they look like they've turned things around, they're still up and down. Remember how last year they struggled in September? Many people thought they were folding then.

(Deep breath)

This thread's posts are taking a turn for the better. Smile

The Dodgers have beaten the Cardinals twice in the last two days, so have guaranteed they will lose no ground in the wild card race this weekend.

The two games were about as different as you can imagine--the first a wild one that got nearly out of control, the second a great pitching duel.

CK started in the opener and pitched admirably. The Dodgers teed off on Cardinals starting pitcher Gomber, and never looked back while building a 6-1 lead. However, KJ was summoned in the ninth and did not in any way shape or form look "right." The Dodgers escaped, but not without exhaling, winning 9-7.

In Friday's game, L.A.'s homeboy Jack Flaherty got the start vs. Walker Buehler, an emerging "second ace" who has complemented Clayton well all season long. Buehler got the best of the battle, backed by two solo shots off the bat of Yasiel. He threw eight solid innings and Ked nine Cards. After scoring 17 runs in the previous two games, the Dodgers bats struggled against Flaherty, and with good reason--Buehler was simply a little better, and good enough to shut out St. Louis. It was just the boost the Dodgers needed.

And we'll have Baseball at Breakfast today...coming up in a short while!

Well, three out of four ain't bad.

And the Dodgers were back in first by one-half game for less than 24 hours.

But as many of us feared, unloading all the lumber on Saturday had a negative effect on Sunday--going from 17 runs scored to zero.

I'm sure it didn't help much that Adam Wainwright was on the mound for St. Louis, and shut down the L.A. offense for six innings. Three relievers finished off the job as the Dodgers were limited to just four hits. Meanwhile, their starting pitcher Ross Stripling wasn't too effective and the Cardinals won the game, 5-0.

They came to play, that is until Sunday. I can't feel too bad about 3 of 4 on the road. Yasiel and Walker impressed, for sure.

The Dodgers embarked on their final road trip of the season with their first stop in Arizona for three games. What once looked like a series that might decide the division, was no more since the Diamondbacks were eliminated from contention for the NL West over the last few days.

Final score Dodgers 7, Diamondbacks 4.

This race is going to kill me! Mad

With four games left to play, the Dodgers' lead is a mere 1/2 game.

And so, here we are, these Dodgers. Last weekend of the season. Forced into a corner. At risk of losing the National League West for the first time since 2012.

And it all boils down to the Dodgers and the Jints at AT&T Park. Swell.

Exhale. Dodgers win the first game, still trail Rockies by one game in NL West race.

And, the final beatdown is over. With a 15-0 win over the Water Hoarders, the Dodgers put an exclamation point on the series, on their season, and in hopes of winning their sixth straight NL West crown, put it all on the line at Dodger Stadium today.
