This thread will track trades, waiver claims, and other player movements between teams throughout the season.

The Jints have acquired OFer Kevin Pillar (and L.A. native) from the Blue Jays in exchange for RHPs Juan De Paula and Derek Law and IFer Alen Hanson.

(Not happy because I liked that guy!) Sad

First baseman/OFer Tyler Austin has been acquired by the Jints from the Twins, in exchange for minor league OFer Malique Ziegler.

Well, Sunnyblue, the Bison has been released by the Reds.

Where the outfielder ends up next is anyone's guess.

Kind of crazy because he was on the IL at the time - but if they need to bring up guys, I don't see why that's a problem. I really feel his best days are way behind him. He turns 35 this season. I don't think he'd ever see another full season of being a great player.

Probably true.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers have signed catcher Travis d'arnaud, who was designated for assignment by the Mets and then released. D'arnaud has struggled mightily this season after returning from TJ surgery. He is expected to play multiple positions in L.A., and he will also complement Rojo Chingon as the "other" dude from Lakewood, CA on the team.

Gerardo Parra has been designated for assignment by the Jints.

Well, that was misleading--and certainly a short stay in L.A.! Catcher/utility player Travis d'arnaud has been acquired by the Rays in exchange for cash considerations. He grounded out in his only at-bat for the Dodgers, in a loss to the Nationals two days ago.

And Dodgers nemesis/outfielder Gerardo Parra has been signed by the Nationals for one year.

I sure wish the Nats had waited until after this weekend to add Parra! Evil or Very Mad

LOL, I hear you! Smile

Anyway, to think that it all started with the Dodgers...

RHP Edwin Jackson has been acquired by the Blue Jays from the Athletics in exchange for cash considerations, which means he's played for more teams than any other player in MLB history. To supplement this, I'll bump up the thread I posted about him last year.

I just found out Aaron Altherr is now with the Mets! Did he play in the Dodgers-Mets series this week?

Not to my recollection.

Also, outfielder Jay Bruce was traded to the Phillies today along with cash considerations. In return, the Mariners received minor league (A level) third baseman Jake Scheiner.

The Cubs have signed RHP Craig Kimbrel for three years, pending a physical, and LHP Dallas Keuchel has been signed by the Braves for one season, pending a physical. Two major question marks of the offseason have been answered via delay.

I wonder how long it will take to get them into midseason form. Those are 2 teams already contending which will just make them stronger.

We lost another hometown boy when outfielder Alex Dickerson (Poway High) was traded to the Water Hoarders. Outfielders are expendable here. Got a minor league pitcher back for him, RHP Franklin Van Gurp. Dickerson is going directly to Triple A Sacramento. Article from mlb.com

The Mariners sure did fall apart after their hot start. Now we know they're sellers anyway, but they sent Edwin Encarnacion to the Yankees a couple of days ago. He will probably mostly DH there. I have never heard of the prospect the Yankees got for him! His name is Juan Then. I googled him and found out he's only 19 and from the D.R. He is an RHP. The Mariners got Then, and cash considerations in the trade.

Here's the link
