The winner was announced today, Al Michaels. Here's the link announcing it.
I remember hearing him when I was growing up, on ABC Sports. He had quite a career calling other sports, too.

Thanks for covering me on this one, too. Al Michaels is deserving. Frankly, I haven't even thought about him in a long time but he did used to be part of the World Series broadcast team back in our "heyday." Congratulations to him. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."
