And, it's on!
The 2021 Caribbean Series is underway in Mexico. Of course I miss our watch parties, but this is how it's going to be for awhile, so watching on TV or on-line is what will happen until better times return and we can be together in person. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I know, right!
DR over PR
Panama over Venezuela
Right now MX is leading Colombia in the 5th inning. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

They lost last night to D.R., 4-2, but they get prime time again tonight, facing P.R.
Also from last night:

I did not like the final score of the Tomateros game last night. P.R. won, 6-4. Same time again tonight, they will play P.R.
Venezuela & D.R. are now playing scoreless in the 7th, super pitching going on. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Cath, I did watch last night and was happy the Ts won that game; they really needed it.
To recap:
D.R. over Venezuela, 2-0--that game featuring the excellent pitching (I missed it while working, so thanks for keeping me up on it because I checked in at lunch)
Colombia over Puerto Rico, 2-1 (another game with fine pitching)
Mexico over Panama, 6-3 (not sure how this happened sicne they were originally scheduled to face P.R.?)
Tomateros face Venezuela tonight. Prime time! _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

Terrific walk off win for Mexico last night in the 10th inning, 4-3. Yesterday was the first time I got to watch more than 1 game and all 3 games were 1 run wins. Earlier I watched D.R. beat Colombia, 3-2. The morning game was P.R. vs. Panama and P.R. won, 9-8. |

What a letdown last night. Two more 1-run games, Tomateros lose to P.R., 2-1, and D.R. over Panama, 4-3. Watching championship now, D.R. vs. P.R. It is not the same without a living room full of crazy baseball fans. Maybe next year! _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

It just was not the same. Now we just have to get through the next 12 days until February 19! _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |
