And of course, this is a weekend when I have an unavoidable commitment to two activities (one of them being attending the Dodgers-Mets game)...so I guess I'll have to wait until the Supers, should you decide to host again. Sad

Texas A&M is the first team to claim a spot in the CWS by eliminating Louisville. (I had Louisville advancing.) Congratulations to the Aggies.

First, as always, thanks to Cathy! Very Happy

And thanks for your flexibility with so many TVs/monitors--I had forgotten the Padres were playing a doubleheader.

Next, I was completely disheartened by the evening games. UConn going up by so much so early, only to see it end a close 13-12 loss for Stanford, really puts an exclamation point on their arrival at the Sunken Diamond. Oregon State must bounce back tomorrow after losing to Auburn.

Some of those long drawn-out slugfests I could have done without, although it was exciting to see such a huge comeback even though it fell short.

I had a good time too despite it all and the Dodgers losing, too. Baseball is great with friends.

Now today - I am in shock! Are you kidding, Notre Dame eliminated Tennessee? That is beyond crazy. Congratulations to ND for making it to the College World Series. Stanford is leading now and has to win to force a game 3.

Stanford won it 10-5, and is going back to Omaha! Congratulations!

And the last team in is Auburn, who beat Oregon State, 4-3, game just ended. Stanford will have 3 SEC teams to deal with on that side of the bracket. I guess OSU should not feel too bad since Tennessee was already eliminated.

Also, congratulations to UConn for playing a great series and establishing control from the start, although eventually Stanford was too much for them to overcome. The Huskies never stopped coming at them, though--they were a much tougher opponent than I had predicted.

Unfortunately the game you missed was a horrible beatdown. Well fortunately for you, I guess. But it's just embarrassing to lose 17-3 in your opening game.

It was not the same without you, Linda. But today? Stanford got eliminated without even a win in the CWS. Auburn won, 6-2.

I was starting to really think Notre Dame had a shot but then they've been eliminated. It's going to be Ole Miss and Oklahoma now for the title.
