Philly cheesesteaks don't make for good breakfast with baseball. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

Tell it like it is! We've had a great record for B at B this year. I'm surprised we've had so many of them already since it's only May. |

Breakfast at Baseball would have been much sweeter yesterday enjoyed with some St. Louis barbecue, if only my boys had won - but they lost, and moved on to play the Brewers in Milwaukee. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

If you like a lot of action with breakfast, yesterday's White Sox-Dodgers game was for you. Personally, I'm glad I was working.
The Dodgers won, 11-9, after trailing early, 4-0. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

When they were down 4-0 early I had a sinking feeling like it was going to be the first game of the series all over again.
Funny - but TLR said he would still make that decision. He stands by it because he thought it made sense at the time. I can't blame him, knowing what Mad Max's numbers were like. And if the same people who bash Doc all the time for his decisions that backfire, were to say the same about La Russa, they would probably want him kicked out of the Hall of Fame!
The truth is, nobody has a magic 8 ball and knows what will happen even if you are playing by the numbers. |

Well, today was a good day for chili in Cincinnati! Five home runs for L.A. in the Dodgers' 10-5 win, including production from the much-maligned middle of the lineup. CK threw six solid innings for the win, the bullpen gave up four, but by that time the Dodgers had worn out Reds pitching. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game.
