Late last night the news broke that the USMC has identified the Marines killed in the Osprey accident in the desert, and Steve Sax's son, Johnny, was one of them.

Prayers for the Sax family.
Crying or Very sad

Heartbreaking, and prayers for the other families too. I had such a crush on Steve when I was a kid!

The sad news came down before yesterday's Dodgers-Cubs game that legendary Dodgers scout Mike Brito passed away at age 87. What a fixture he was at Dodger Stadium for so many years! Broadcasters and fans from other teams recognized him and commented about this. Brito surely had a hand in the course of baseball during the 1980s.

May he rest in peace--with the Panama hat, the Cuban cigar, the radar gun and the championship rings.

I bet that is very hard for Fernando. You are right, he was part of the game scene for the Dodgers for so long.

Now I see Gil's wife Joan Hodges has passed away. It is good to know that if they eventually did induct him into the Hall of fame, she was alive for that even if not in good health.

"The Mouse That Roared" is gone. Dodger legend Maury Wills passed away just shy of his 90th birthday. May he rest in peace.

Your Dodger family has had a lot of losses this year. I did respect and admire Mr. Wills so much.

That really is sad. Hopefully they'll be inspired enough to keep playing at such a high level.
