Though we do have a thread about the probability of catching foul balls at a game, this is about more than foul balls. In yesterday's Astros-Red Sox game at Fenway Park, one lucky fan caught not one, but two home run balls and not just in the same game, but in the same inning! _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I love this story! Fenway Park hosted a senior prom. What a night! Article from mlb.com _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Did anyone see the video clip of the squirrel that got loose on the field last week? I'm trying to find it but I don't remember what stadium it was at! |

Thought I would mention this - the Lake Elsinore Storm invited their mayor into the broadcast booth on Friday, and who would have known they would throw a no hitter! Pretty good timing on his part. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Oh, my. They are investigating a couple for getting a little too rowdy, if you know what I mean! On the top level of the Coliseum, which I suppose would stand out since there are so few fans at the games these days. |

Yes, we were laughing about this earlier! The things people come up with to pass time when their team is in last place and playing in an aging stadium, Lol! _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

My first thought was, "if you're scoring that play..."

I am going to try and bring this thread back to being G rated, lol!
Ke'Bryan Hayes was scolded for picking sunflower seeds out of his pocket during a live play yesterday. The amount of coverage this little incident has gotten! |

I remember that from last week. I guess since the Pirates do not have much to follow there they do have to pick up on the "scandals" when they do have them, Lol.
If you want something else too crazy to imagine happening, 2 players got ejected for a national anthem "stand off." That was in K.C. today before the Mariners/Royals game. I guess this isn't really "news", because I read it last month, but just ran across it again--about how Doc had to flee San Diego for a vacation following the NLDS loss.
There were plenty of us left behind who took the heat, anyway... _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

Well I cannot really blame him!
Technically though, I think he is not a S.D. native but a Japan native. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |
