It's a little odd that on the same night as that Hayes home run was overturned, Royals minor leaguer Bobby Witt Jr. lost a home run by missing home plate! Here's the link. |

I'm going to check and see if there were any others I missed from the first half. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. How's this for quirky--the Tigers won, 17-14, but were out-homered, seven to none, in that game. That's a first in MLB history on two fronts--1) a team allowed seven home runs and still won the game; 2) a team hit seven home runs and still lost the game. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. A check swing bounced-pitch single, from the Oakland-Seattle game a few days ago, hit by Abraham Toro of the Mariners - link from mlb.com _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

At first I thought this was a joke when I saw the headline - "grounds crew ejected." But it really did happen at Camden Yards last night. Another quirky outcome involving a "fourth out" in the Pirates-Nationals game a few days ago, played at Nationals Park. Maybe someone was asleep at the switch?
The Pirates did win the game, barely, 8-7...but imagine how it could have gone without the confusion. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. That inside-the-park grand slam last night at Fenway Park! Blue Jays left fielder Raimel Tapia hit it. Looked like a routine out! Here's the link.
After that game and more piling on, Red Sox fans have got to be beside themselves! |

Maybe this was just a "freaky" week, because Trey Mancini's home run for the Orioles? That was pretty wild. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Just saw this from the highlights of last night's games - crazy finish for the White Sox winning over the Twins. Just when you think you have seen everything, you see Marlins pitcher with 3 balks on one at bat! _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

I just realized this thread hasn't been posted in since last season. So I'm going to need to catch up here as there have been a couple of incidents recently. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I probably should have posted last weekend, but how about that miscommunication with Mookie getting caught off-base against the Jints? I don't think it was Dino Ebel's fault. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. lol. The Diamondbacks played a crazy game with the Braves yesterday and won 16-13. It was the Corbin Carroll strikeout that had everyone laughing. See it for yourself. |

That looks like the kind of thing that would happen against my team.
This is a bit amusing, in the Phillies/Guardians game yesterday J.T. Realmuto "caught" a pitch thrown by the Guardians pitcher, Gavin Williams. It almost looked like it was a "warm up pitch" because J.T. was granted time after Williams went into the delivery.
