As we've all seen over the years, fans from time to time storm the field during a game for one reason or another. In latter years, it's most often to get attention. Political protest was the reason for the man and his son from Eldon, MO, jumping onto the outfield at Dodger Stadium in April, 1976. Expressing displeasure was behind the drunk who mooned John Rocker in the ninth inning of a Dodgers-Braves game in 1999. Sometimes, it's just taking a friend up on a challenge.
Never have I seen the way Ronald Acuna Jr. was accosted on the field in Coors Field last night, though. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

It seemed to me like the Rockies crew was a little lax. That was a weird sight. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |
