Yes, this is my post reporting on my FanFest experience at Chavez Ravine on February 3.

Although we were spared rain, and I feared having to "bundle up" for this one, a light jacket was all that was required although it was a bit cool and cloudy on this day.

As usual, just "being there" again was the highlight of the day. But that's not to take away from Sho-time, who made his grand entrance at Dodger Stadium to the delight of tens of thousands of fans, not to mention his own media entourage. Quite a delight!

I was sorry that I didn't encounter as many of my Dodger fan friends there as I usually do. One had to work, and others I simply didn't get around to contacting because our timeline was tighter. I arrived at the event later than usual while attending with my friend (Ken, whom I'll be writing about more later), who drove us. But any time spent at my "home away from home" in mid-winter is welcome, and I savored it for as long as I could until Opening Day on March 29.

And to close, I'll just say once again, that this is my idea of the perfect winter wonderland. No frozen basepaths, no icicles hanging from the pavilions. Palms and patios and splashes of blue amid the rays, green grass with children in gloves and bats taking part in this wonderful game, followed by adults playing with the reckless abandon of the children.

Sounds like an exciting time as usual, DB. Thanks. I bet that arrival was like royalty showing up.

Good day for you, Linda! I bet a beer and Dodger Dog were part of the plan too! Lol.
