That was weird.

I guess this has happened more than once or something like it. Maybe it does not qualify as "strange" anymore. S.F. pitcher Hunter Strickland hurt his hand punching a door at AT&T Park out of frustration, after he blew a save against the Marlins this week. But, he will be out 6 to 8 weeks so I guess he will not be blowing any saves for them for awhile. Still that is a lot of time to pay the price for his frustration.

True, Strickland's was preventable, but what is it with pitchers these days? This actually happened over a week ago, but Cubs closer Brandon Morrow hurt his back while taking his pants off. The reactions, as expected, were hilarious.

This one is due for updates, too.

OMG! A few days ago I posted about Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale being hospitalized for a stomach problem. Today we learned the truth--a belly button ring caused the problem. Rolling Eyes

Dice-K--remember him?--is back in the news.

Former Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, now playing back in his native Japan, is experiencing pain in his throwing arm thanks to a fan's actions.

From NBCSports.com:

Quote:
(Matsuzaka) was diagnosed with inflammation in his right shoulder after an "overzealous fan" yanked his arm during a fan event in Okinawa, Japan, for the Chunichi Dragons of the Nippon Professional Baseball league.

It's unfortunate, but it almost makes one wonder if perhaps the "fan" was one of the opposition. Twisted Evil

Hoping everything works out well for him sooner rather than later.

Oh, geez! Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly suffered a stiff back while cooking, causing him to miss workouts.

Sheesh!

Oh geez. Even though it is unfortunate these crazy injuries keep happening, it is interesting to read back on it which I was just doing, and seeing how far back the stories go. Some I had forgotten about.

Rays ace Blake Snell will miss a start after he fractured a toe while moving a decorative stand in his bathroom.
