Finally it has arrived, and not a minute too soon. That wonderful day that embodies love so well:

I'll also post my annual disclaimer:

Never forget that despite all the red hearts you'll see today, as the song goes, "LOVE IS BLUE!"

(And we're not talking Cubs!!!)

Laughing

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, given how many "red" teams we have represented here, I am sure some of you will disagree with some of this, but on the basic concept, is it not true that we all love the game...and feel some pretty strong emotions about it!
Happy ST, Happy Valentine's Day!
And here is MLB.com's annual Valentine's Day greeting to us all.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.
You would have loved working with me all week, but not because of red. I have been around nothing but roses of all colors for five days straight.
Reminded me of my wonderful New Year's Day experience. Smile
I'm playing "Love is Blue" as I type.
Thanks, Crz!
Oh, and I forgot to mention, our own Takashi Saito turns 38 today. Smile
Appropriately, he is a pitcher, as in "pitchers and catchers report."
Looking back on this thread's posts from last year:
He is no longer ours. Sad
Happy Valentine's Day to all my baseball-loving friends. For a few days this week, I put in several hours for the florist I worked for last February, transporting flowers from the growers here in town to be delivered all over the country. One of my coworkers gave me a bouquet very similar to the one photographed below, as a Valentine's "gift" after we finished up Thursday.
Got a chuckle out of this on MLB.com. A worthwhile read, every word of it.
Roses and diamonds, a beautiful thing!
LOL, those roses do not look red to me!
I thought you would like that part of the article about the birds on the bat. Smile
I also liked:
Quote:
Pitch counts. We hate them. One hate, two hate, three hate. But we are told that they are a necessary fact of life, because guys like Joba Chamberlain have to be watched closely lest their arms go flying completely off and land in box seats. How did Walter Johnson and Nolan Ryan manage to pitch for so long? What kind of pitch count did Bob Feller have?
Yeah, we are old school. Smile
Sorry I did not get to this one before now. Beautiful flowers! "Love is blue" is a great song! I listened on Youtube when I saw the link here!
Too bad Sammy does not belong to us anymore! Hope that you all had a nice Valentine's Day!
