Yesterday afternoon I made a brief stop at home after work before going downtown for the game.
About two miles south of my exit, there was a major slowdown--not typical for that stretch of freeway, even at rush hour. I figured it involved an accident and got off the interstate to take surface streets.
I watched the news briefly before leaving the house again, and the lead story was this.
And here I thought I was being smart by exiting early. *sigh*
Quote: | SAN DIEGO — Motorists stopped on freeways yesterday and scrambled to collect cash that drug suspects tossed like confetti from their pickup while leading police on a pursuit during the evening commute.
Police arrested two men on Interstate 5 in Carmel Valley while other officers collected more than $17,000 along the pursuit route.

I saw that on the news today. I'm happy no one was hit by a car. So maybe a blessing that you missed it. |

Yeah, but one guy had a $100 bill fly in through his car window and land on his lap. Why couldn't that happen to me? _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game.
