|
The Reds have been buried in the month of April, their 3-18 record among the worst starts in franchise history, according to this article.
As noted per the link:
Quote: | At 3-16, the Reds are tied for the second-worst record in franchise history. They opened 2018 with a 3-18 record and 1931 at 2-16. |
Not only have the Padres completed a sweep of the season series (6-0) winning three games at Petco Park last week, followed by three more played at Great American Ballpark since Tuesday--but the Dodgers also swept the Reds in a four-game set at Dodger Stadium two weeks ago.
So essentially, Cincinnati is 0-13 vs. Socal, as of April 29.
And if you factor in that Super Bowl loss for the Bengals, well...

I am more than happy to have my team play a part in that! But, 0-13 vs. the same 2 teams, in 1 month? _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

The misery continues. The Reds are now 3-21 and officially off to the worst start in franchise history. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Been there a lot as a Padres fan but that is even worse than it was for us. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

They are at home this weekend but rained out tonight. I bet that was a relief! |

The Athletic had a few comments to make about this, adding that now is the time to trade Joey Votto since he doesn't deserve to be on this team. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Well I just blinked and the Reds have won 2 in a row! I guess that happens when you get the Pirates in for a home series! _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

After the Reds lost their eight-inning no-hitter yesterday, the Athletic had this to say:
Quote: | ...the Reds are 9-26 and on pace for 120 losses this season. The 1962 New York Mets hold the record for the most losses (120) in the modern era, but they only played 160 games that season. The good news is the Reds' .257 winning percentage is better than the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics (36-117), who finished at just .235. Silver linings, baby. |
