Well, when I read that it was International Lefties Day, my initial thought was how much I love two LHPs whose last names start, appropriately, with "K".

Then, by no coincidence, Ryu beat the Mets and, right or left, all is good with the world.

Celebrating them all...and what they bring to the game. Smile

I guess I don't have to ask how he did!

Of course among Padre fans, our favorite southpaw would have to be #35! Smile

So, interestingly enough, Ryu got the start on Southpaw Day a year later...and not only lost, but was injured!

Let me just say I have a few other favorite lefties on the Dodgers...notably, our ace pitcher and our first baseman!

I knew we had a thread for this even though it had been awhile since I posted here.

Major League Baseball celebrates Lefthanders Day

One day after Clayton pitched we will have a righty going in the game tonight! Oh well.

Thanks, Sunny! I got so busy yesterday I didn't have a chance to get back here in time, so I'm glad you did.

We had a righty starting our game--which the Dodgers lost!--but as I mentioned earlier in another thread, the promotional giveaway at Dodger Stadium on this day commemorated the team's greatest southpaw ever, Sandy K.! So, the timing was very appropriate, indeed. Smile

Of course, offensively, in particular I love our Latin lefties tandem, El Titan and Dre. Very Happy

Linda, yes among pitchers of course #35 is our favorite southpaw.

But everyone knows who our favorite lefty (hitter) is!

Another bump to remember my favorite lefties! Smile

Did I really miss posting on Southpaws Day last year? Confused I guess so, since this thread indicates no entries since 2016.

Happy International Lefties' Day! Smile

On August 13 this year, I'll be missing two of my favorite LH hitters with the Dodgers who departed in the offseason. Obviously, they are Dre and El Titan.

So that's why Kershaw faces Bumgardner tonight, lol. Also DB don't forget Vin is a lefty, too.

While the forum was down it was Southpaws Day - I dug this one up because I was pretty sure a thread about it existed. We must have been forgetting about it though. Smile

I guess it doesn't have the same excitement since certain players are no longer with the Dodgers. But at least Clayton still is. Happy Belated International Lefties Day, to all.

LOL! Yes, it looks like my level of activity did drop off over the past three years. Smile

Let's never forget Mad Max! Cool

I'm slipping again. I should have bumped this for Saturday.

And in honor of our beloved late Vin Scully--a prominent lefty.

Oh, yes, for Vinnie! And also for our new Dodger, Freddie, a LH hitter who I've really liked watching do so well as our first baseman!

DB, another one for this year. Cody is gone but we still have Freddie and Clayton. I'm also thankful for El Culichi improving so much since he started the season so badly. And of course in memory of our dear Vinnie.

Embarassed Why do I always think of this a couple of days too late? Maybe I should mark it on my calendar. Razz Thanks, Sunny.
