Strickland is a wuss! Did you notice Buster stayed out of the fray - and what would be up with retaliation for something that happened 3 years ago - it was dumb!

I guess after yesterday's brawl in Detroit, this thread is due for a bump!

Comments?

The AL seems to get most of the good fights. Cabrera was way out of line!

A couple of things I wanted to post about here. Both of them have to do with the Red Sox and Yankes. One is something I just heard about and more serious than the other. That is, the Sox have been stealing signs through Apple Watch! Article from USA Today

I bet they did not foresee that in 1951? Lol

The other is the minor tiff that CC Sabathia was in about the Red Sox bunting for base hits against him to take advantage of his knee. I thought it was funny though, that he was criticized for criticizing. Article from New York Post

The funny part was when Red Sox Hall of Famer Jim Rice responded that CC should "lose weight" instead of complaining. Laughing Laughing

Sorry it took me a couple of days to respond, Cath. I do indeed agree, as technology advances, the means of stealing signs get more sophisticated!

The Red Sox and Yankees have both been fined.

And now have you heard that mlb is investigating the Diamondbacks after last night's game? Article from Sports Illustrated

Looks like the Diamondbacks actually did get fined for that!

Here is the first one for this thread this year. In Wednesday's Padres-Rockies game in Coors Field, Nolan Arenado charged the mound against Luis Perdomo after a behind-the-back pitch. Fines are being handed down!

We've also had a Red Sox-Yankees skirmish so far.

How about that hot topic of Anthony Rizzo's slide into Pirates catcher Elias Diaz - disagreement between Cubs manager and MLB's Joe Torre, about whether it was legal or not. Article from Associated Press

Danny, my brothers and I were all talking about this. It's so clear Rizzo was wrong.

I am sure this did not go unnoticed by anyone else here Smile but there was some tension in the dugout between Stephen and his teammate Max Scherzer on Friday. He (Stephen) had just come off the DL and had a bad start against Atlanta.

Not sure what the tiff was all about but supposedly the guys straightened things out and made up. Link from mlb.com

I feel bad for Nationals fans this year.

Guess we can bump this one up for this current season. Linda & Sunny, did you see the Reds-Pirates brouhaha yesterday? Your former right fielder was right in the middle of it! Smile

LOL, yes. Pirates pitcher Chris Archer has been suspended for five games, and YP for two.

How about the benches clearing bat flip and suspension of Tim Anderson (White Sox) during their game against the Royals this week - Anderson was said to use a racial slur towards K.C. pitcher Brad Keller. Article from NBC Sports

Yeah, and that was a weird turnaround in which the white pitcher was called the slur by a black hitter. Hard to figure. Some players are defending it as "trash talking", but in my opinion if you're going to punish one guy for using the slur, you have to punish them all.

Has anyone been following the Phillies-Mets series this week? Lots of throwing at players, some guys calling out their teammates, etc. Bryce was ejected for arguing with the home plate umpire. That didn't make his pitcher Jake Arrieta too happy. Relax people, it's only April. lol

Sorry, Sunny, I've gotten behind again! Yes, I need to update this one, too, so I'm putting a placemarker here.

Anyone see the dugout-clearing brouhaha at Wrigley Field last night after Willson Contreras' home run?

Yes, I did. I also realized I did not post about Manny being suspended last week. I am sure you heard about it, though.

I wondered what you Dodger ladies thought about Yasiel getting into another scuffle during the Reds-Cubs game this weekend?

Quite a donnybrook between the Mets and Nationals this weekend. Anyone see?

Lots of Tuesday night action, first in the Bronx--benches clearing after a shouting match between Yankees starter CC Sabathia and Rays outfielder Avisail Garcia.

No sooner had I posted about CC and Avisail, than I heard about Manny (excuse me, "Mandiego") and his outburst on Twitter about discrimination. Cathy, comments?

Well, I think he should keep his mouth shut. While I have seen and heard discrimination against Latino players before I am not sure this is such a case. Now he is not the hothead Yasiel is, or the prima donna the other Manny was. But he is going to be held to high standards because of his contract. I think he should be aware of that and stop blaming other people.

Thanks for a level-headed opinion.

By the way, doesn't it seem like the Yankees are in the middle of a lot of these brouhahas? Manager Aaron Boone was ejected from the NYY-Tampa Bay game yesterday after a tirade directed towards a rookie umpire, in which he referenced his players as "savages." Shocked
