|It still feels like a ton of bricks hits you, thinking about the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the fact that it's been 17 years since they took place. Some of the youngest players in Major League Baseball today were barely toddlers when this all went down.
There were some appropriate commemorations around Major League Baseball yesterday.
That particular time in my life was very much a low point in so many other ways, it's sometimes hard for me to sort out my memories of my personal travails from the on-a-greater-scale losses that our country suffered.
But the world as we knew it then changed in so many ways.
Here's a look back at how that tragedy affected our country, and MLB in particular.
