So I missed the mark, Sunnyblue...got lazy and was away from the laptop last night. Smile

I had planned to post more about the 50th anniversary of the "Year of the Pitcher." 1968 was the year in baseball that led to the lowering of the mound in 1969, and pitchers have never had that advantage since.

Slacking off on the job again are you, Lol.

It was definitely a big change to lower the mound and I too remember the summer of 1968. It was the last one before my Padres began playing as a major league team. It seems like baseball was still king then but football was starting to gain in popularity. That just led to a lot of changes to make the game seem more interesting so it would not lose fans. Those are things people like you & I cannot understand. Smile
