What in the world has been going on with so many fans getting on the field this week, and all having some obsession with Cody?

This happened in three consecutive games between June 23 and June 25. What's ironic is that only one of those incidents happened in Dodger Stadium, as they closed out their homestand last Sunday.

The next two nights, on two separate occasions, fervent individual fans rushed him in right field at Chase Field in Arizona.

One of these incidents involved a 14-year-old girl.

Cody's reaction following the second incident was enough for him to go on record pleading for it to stop.

From USA Today:

Quote:
This is not cute. This is not romantic. This is straight up creepy.

...Bellinger brushed off the first incident with a self-deprecating joke, but he — or any other person for that matter — shouldn’t have to deal with strangers putting their hands all over him.

And via David Vassegh's Twitter account:

Cody Bellinger wants to warn other fans thinking of going on the field for a hug: "I don't think my hugs are that special to be honest, so for future reference my hugs aren't that great so don't rush me on the field." #CodyLove 😂

But then the third fan rush happened.

(Note: When Dusty Baker played left field for the Dodgers, the area he patrolled was known as "Bakersfield." What do we call right field at the Ravine now, Belli-flower? Laughing Laughing Laughing

Heard about that - crazy. It looks like they got it under control in Colorado, unless something happened that I have not heard about yet.

Poor Cody! That's what you get for being a super talented and still cute player. Smile
