Hey, Cathy, I could swear I had already posted this over the weekend, but evidently I didn't.

Saturday marked the 40th anniversary of the rebirth of the San Diego Chicken, and I'm sure you remember the events very well. They took place on June 29, 1979 at San Diego Stadium, as described here.

It probably ranks right up there with Ray Kroc's Opening Day tirade in 1974, as far as entertainment value goes. Smile

And yes...I was there 40 years ago for that Padres-Astros game with the "egg ceremony" being the center of attention.

Oh, my goodness, we were there too! What a moment to remember, Lol. By then the Chicken had become his own personality. 40 years!

The Chicken came to Petco Park this weekend to celebrate the Padres' 50th anniversary season!
