Yeah, you know I was eventually going to get around to this. Very Happy It's one of the news items that broke while I was gone in early January.

Just ahead of the first back female vice president of the U.S. taking her oath, the first black female coach in the history of professional baseball was hired. Bianca Smith, 29, will be assigned to the team's player development facility in Florida, and will work mainly with position players.

This is also a notable "reversal" move in the history of the organization, given the Red Sox were the last major league team to integrate black players.

Congratulations to Bianca!

This would have been so unthinkable back in our day growing up. I wish her much success. Millions of women will be doing that.
