So far we know this much--the rumored retirements of two future Hall of Famers in Socal are not imminent. Clayton's comments to the L.A. Times a couple of weeks ago were vague enough for some to take it as this would be his last season in Major League Baseball; he has since clarified that he has no intentions of that being the case.

More recently, Albert and his wife, Deirdre, had to make a similar statement as this is the final year of his contract with the Angels.

Those two players are both real idols so once they walk away, the game will not be the same. I was wondering about Clayton as well, but Albert is much older (41) compared to Clayton being almost 33. If Albert were to retire I don't think it would raise too many eyebrows.
