So the Dodgers' 2022 season gets underway this afternoon at Coors Field. ITFDB--almost! _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Well, that was a nice win in Colorado yesterday because when I reflect back to Opening Day last year on the road, they were also playing at Coors Field and lost that game on a fluke "home run" miscommunication by Cody, one which I'd care not to remember or describe in further detail.
So with Walker getting his first Opening Day start, the Dodgers fell behind 2-0 but scored five runs in the fourth. Craig Kimbrel notched his first save as a Dodger, but not without giving up a ninth-inning run. Final score, Dodgers 5, Rockies 3. Highlights included Gavin's good game, Freddie's first hit as a Dodger. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. And with yesterday's game the Dodgers get their first loss of the season. On to take the series, today, let's hope. |

The Dodgers lost their first series of the season with a 9-4 setback in the rubber game yesterday. Off to a very slow start is Mad Max, who DHed in the series finale. Okay, Cody logged two hits, which is encouraging. Not a great start for Julio, who surrendered six runs in the first two innings (only three earned), which was the duration of his stint. To be fair, it's Coors, but both teams were victims of wind-induced errors on this afternoon. Antonio Senzatela started for the Rockies and wasn't particularly sharp, either, not even making it out of the fourth inning. But perhaps the real star for Colorado was ex-Jint/reliever Ty Blach, who pitched four innings to get the save, while Jhoulys Chacin was credited with the win.
That followed a closer loss, 3-2, in the middle game. El Gato started in that one, went four innings followed by Tyler Anderson for three, and the two combined to allow two runs over seven. But it was Blake Treinen who gave up the go-ahead run in the eighth and was charged with the L. It came in the form of a solo shot off the bat of Connor Joe, no less...sigh...
But on the flip side, German Marquez threw a quality start with seven strong innings for Colorado.
On to Minnesota for two games, then to L.A. for the home opener on Thursday. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Andrew Heaney will have his first start of the season tonight. Being in the back end I see him as a big question mark. Clayton gets his first start of the season tomorrow, though! |

Surprisingly, Andrew Heaney's first start as a Dodger turned out to be a solid one. Dodgers broke it open late to win, 7-2. And today we get Baseball at Breakfast for the first time this season, to close out the road trip! _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I got chills watching! Quite a game, but I was disappointed with the pre-game ceremonies. Seems they could have done so much more. |

Yes, I agree.
That game was followed up by another win, last night.
And tonight, it's Hunter Greene. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

Seems to be a pretty good opening series for your team. Of course I was rooting for the Reds but they look very overmatched. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Yes, they were. They were beaten, 8-1, today for a four-game sweep. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. If the Yankees are the most successful team in baseball history, the Dodgers are the most essential. Their legacy is unique."

I'm really excited for the coming series. It's going to be the world champion Braves at Dodger Stadium for the first time since the NLCS last year. KJ will be visiting his old home ballpark, and Freddie will be facing his old teammates. And, another exciting thing is Clayton will be pitching tomorrow in the first game of the series, coming off his great start last week. I think the Ravine will be rocking, again. |

Now it's 7 wins in a row for the Dodgers after they started out 1-2 in Colorado. That was so bomb to see Freddie hit his first Dodger home run against his old team, tonight! We're going to Saturday's game at Petco Park, by the way! |

And so, the Dodgers' first homestand of 2022 is a successful one as they end up taking the series from the Braves, finishing 6-1 as they hit the road south to San Diego. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Was KJ booed at this series? I have read comments that suggest it on a few forums. Looked like a good series between the Braves & Dodgers. It must have been really emotional for Freddie to see his old teammates. I am sure he must have really mixed feelings. Also - I noticed Ronald Acuña has been sent on a rehab assignment! _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

He got a standing ovation the first night when the Dodgers played a nice video tribute to thank him.
When he entered the game, in the second contest of the series, he was booed. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. With a 10-2 shellacking of the Padres today, the Dodgers won the series and now head for Arizona. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Being there for both Saturday and Sunday's games I got to see a loss, and a win. Wish Clayton would have broken the franchise K record today but he will get another shot at home next weekend. |

Thinking back over the decades of my fanhood, never did I think one day I'd get so excited about a CG SHO, but it was Walker's first of his career last night. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Our team lost to the Diamondbacks last night, 5-3, which in itself is not so bad but they did a lot of things wrong. Bad baserunning, Gavin Lux's error that allowed unearned runs to score, the bullpen for a change did not look as good as it's been. Every team will lose games but if they're just outplayed by a good team that's one thing, not looking sloppy by a bad team. Good thing they have a day game today before leaving Arizona, they don't have too much time to let the loss sink in. |

And now they've lost a series to the Diamondbacks for the first time since 2019.

Back in L.A.!
A tale of two Tylers unfolded at Dodger Stadium tonight as the Dodgers' Tyler Anderson beat the Tigers' Tyler Alexander, 5-1, in the first game of the weekend series. Rojo Chingon and CT3's early home runs provided more than enough offense as L.A. cruised to a 5-1 win. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. Jints in briefly for a two-game set.
