3-0 since the break!

Dodger Stadium has surely shone this week. The Jints have been on the losing end of the first three games in the series, and we'll see if the home team can complete the sweep tomorrow.

Four-game sweep. Over the Jints, no less. Closing out the first series played post-All-Star Game, and making a statement.

The last time the Dodgers swept four at home against S.F., Tommy Lasorda was managing for L.A., and a former player of Tommy's was mentoring the Battery Chuckers--Dusty, of course.

Nationals in tonight, and there will definitely be non-stop talk about Juan Soto.

I also liked seeing Klay Thompson at Sunday's game cheering his brother on, and having a good time doing it. Trayce had that great catch leaning over the rail in foul territory, too.

True! Now of course, the winning streak had to come to an end, even though sometimes you can imagine them going on forever--but that was not to be, last night.

Well, well! The Dodgers followed up their two-game losing streak with a two-game winning streak.

They closed out the homestand on Wednesday, avoiding a sweep by the Nationals by making an early statement against starting pitcher Patrick Corbin, and won, 7-1. Andrew Heaney made his return from the IL for the Dodgers and looked brilliant.

Wasting no time, the team flew to Colorado and took on the Rockies beginning a four-game series on Thursday. No sweat for Tyler Anderson as he shut out his old team, and the Dodgers piled on to win, 13-0.

Good weekend at high altitude! The Dodgers won three of four in Colorado and now head for the Bay Area. Yesterday's contest was the only setback, in which the Rockies won, 5-3.

And still rolling...the Dodgers stormed through Oracle Park with an 8-2 win last night.

It's almost like the games are taking a back seat to Vinnie. The Dodgers are still 3-0 since he passed away. I hope they take it into the series against the Padres this weekend. Need to keep WinforVin!

Yes, it is, but here I have to mention that the Dodgers swept a four-game series in S.F. since the Candlestick days...way back in 1977, and are returning home for a very emotional weekend, as well as a challenging one, facing the newly-revamped Padres.

Well, that was a statement, and an appropriate tribute to our dear Vinnie.

Well, after a three-game sweep of the Padres, I say this as a fan who still respects the Padres but who still doesn't think they will take down the Dodgers this year.

Win for Vin!

The Dodgers have now won ten in a row, swept a mini-two-game set with the Twins, and close out their homestand. They'll be on the road for a week, beginning in Kansas City tomorrow, and then in Milwaukee.

There are 2 things I'm really happy about with the team right now - first is that Mad Max and Cody have begun to hit! I thought we would wait forever for that to happen but once it starts clicking, that makes our lineup so much more dangerous! Also, we have pitchers coming back in late August and early September and that includes Walker as well as Big Red (Dustin May) and I'm anxious to see both of them. It will almost feel like a family reunion if we get everything going on the same page again with a regular rotation. Also I should probably mention El Culichi has really stepped up and taken charge as the least talked about Dodger starting pitcher this year. Been nice to see the unsung guys like Tyler and El Gato getting a lot of attention for their first half performances but that's one who sort of flies under the radar but is very valuable!

Yep, and don't forget Rojo Chingon is also getting untracked, too.

The Dodgers beat the Royals tonight in Kansas City, 8-3. The big story early on was El Gato's start, how efficient he was taking a perfect game into the sixth inning, and then losing it but keeping the no-hitter intact. That ended in the seventh, but he certainly impressed while returning to the form that made him so dominating in the first half of the season. With the win, his record improved to 14-1.

The Dodgers took the series in Kansas City this weekend, but they were stymied yesterday by Royals starting pitcher Brady Singer. Thus, a 12-game winning streak, their longest since 1976, came to an end.

Not only that, but they were shut out for the first time since June in the 4-0 loss--after scoring 21 runs in the first two games of the series. Such is baseball!

Brewers, here we come. Let's start a new streak tonight.

And now, a new streak has begun. Behind El Culichi, the Dodgers beat the Brewers, 4-0, in the first of four games to be played at American Family Ballpark. With that win, they became the first major league team to reach the 80-win mark this season.

The new streak did not last long! It only went 1 game. Right now, I am very mad because the Dodgers had an extra innings lead tonight that Craig Kimbrel coughed up for the loss. Now true that it's not a big deal in the big picture because the Dodgers can afford a loss here or there. But that's not what I'm angry about. I'm just waiting for Blake Treinen to get back because we need another closer besides Craig. He cannot be trusted with a razor thin lead, like tonight only having 1 run to protect. By the time the Dodgers start playing really important games again we are going to want to be confident in our closer and it has to be someone who's more reliable.

Yes, I agree, but calm down because with the lead they have right now, they can afford to experiment and see if he figures things out. If he doesn't, remember Blake Treinen will be returning from the IL soon and can be used in that role. One thing I know, if Craig is still struggling later in the season, he will not be the postseason closer. He may not even make the postseason roster.

To recap the last two games: Craig surrendered the winning run in the second game of the series, then bounced back to notch the save in the third game.

The fourth and final game of the set will be played today.

And the Dodgers lost the series finale, 5-3.

They begin a homestand against the Marlins tonight.

Dodgers win the first game behind Tyler Anderson, 2-1!

Welcome back, Dustin May! Big ginger starts tonight for the first time in over a year, making his return from TJ surgery.

Okay, sweeping the Marlins in L.A. may not be very impressive, but when they have leading Cy Young candidate on the mound who hasn't beat the Dodgers yet in his career, there's an element of interest above the garden variety Dodgers-Marlins game. And they pounded Alcantara yesterday.

Brewers, here come your rematch.

It's confounding, they beat the leading Cy Young candidate on Sunday and then were shut out by Eric Lauer and Brewers relievers last night. That is baseball! And they get last year's CY winner tonight!

Now we'll get to see two St. Mary's teammates pitch against each other!

Well, this series has been a tale of two games. In the first one, El Culichi started for the Dodgers and only surrendered one run, yet the Brewers touched up Dodgers relief pitching and ended up winning, 4-0. The bigger story was that this was the first shutout loss for the Dodgers in L.A. this season.

Last night, the Dodgers were back to their usual barrage of run-scoring and won, 10-1, behind El Gato, roughing up his St. Mary's teammate, Corbin Burnes--who just happens to be the defending CYA winner--early.

Rubber game tonight.

The series finale against the Brewers was yet another romp for the Dodgers, 12-6, and with that, they took to the road where they'll open a four-game series in Miami tomorrow night.

Well, finally! A win to open the road trip, but more important, success in one of the few categories the Dodgers have fallen short in this year--extra inning games. Going into this one, they were 2-6 after nine innings this season--now it's 3-6.

I know. The game is already underway, but to fill in the blanks, I'll just say the Dodgers took three of four against the Marlins on the road over the weekend wraparound. The only blip was their loss to Alcantara (their first ever loss to Alcantara, who was 0-3 vs. L.A., coming into the series).
