Getting this one up well ahead of P&C because this year, we have not just Cactus League games to work around but WBC games, too! Just posting about the guys my Padres are sending to WBC made me anxious for February & March. I do not have tickets for any of the games at all, yet. I am willing to meet up with anyone who wants to, but we would have to coordinate on tickets. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Well, there's another twist this year to factor in--the Desert Invitational. And I will post more about that a little bit later. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I need to figure out my work schedule and budget and get back with you here. I am sure looking forward to a trip over the river for more than one reason now. |

It is official that we will be there for the Cactus League opener on February 24, later next week, for the game with the Mariners.
More will come in March when we combine WBC and another Padres game but we have not gotten those dates all nailed down yet. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Looking at all my friends' wildflower photos, makes me want to start that trip soon and make a stopover on the way. |

We are doing just that tomorrow! And leaving for what I expect to be a good weekend. Anza Borrego really has been perking up the last couple of weeks. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

Well, at the very least I thought I could make one of the WBC games work this year, but not looking good at the moment. Certainly I would have caught one preseason game had I been able to, though. _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game. I know I'm getting in on the very end of it but yes, I will be at CBRG this weekend! I regret not going earlier so I could double up and take in a WBC game. |

Well, now the story can be told although I did not want to say anything earlier because of the circumstances. We had tickets to the Team USA-Mexico game in Chase Field a couple of weeks ago and were ready to go over that weekend until a co-worker of my husband died. Because we had to be in town here for the services that weekend, we gave the tickets to my son and his girlfriend. But had we gone back to Arizona, we would have caught 2 more Padres games while there. And since that did not happen we are going this weekend, and will meet up with Sunnyblue and Danny before these camps all break down and the teams head to wherever they are opening the season. I am sad that I missed going to the WBC this year. I hope and plan to be back in 2026 and am wishing hard that they schedule games closer to home.
So tonight - we fly over to Phoenix. Will report back about it later. _________________ "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." - Saul Steinberg |

I hope you're all having a good time. I'm so busy finishing my offseason projects so I can be ready for Opening Day (five days away)! _________________ "The Dodgers have always occupied an enormous place in the history of the game.
