DB, I didn't think a thing of it. I was just so happy when I read that somebody other that Prince Charles, my personal shame, had a birthday today I had to share my joy. And, my birthday buddy is a baseball great to boot.

Did you read in the L.A. Times that the Profeessional Baseball Scouts Foundation will honor Sandy Koufax with its Player Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton. Oh that would be great to attend

Yes, it was indeed a great day! I celebrated the silver anniversary of my 21st birthday.

First, after church was over I watched the Chargers take it to the previously unbeaten Indianapolis Colts (sorry for the football reference, LOL), at Triple Crown Pub (official sports pub of this message board). The Colts' 13-0 streak ended and the Chargers may or may not make the playoffs, but the win was quite an upset.

Next, my nephew's winter league (yes, he has been playing "winter ball" since November even though winter doesn't officially start for a couple of days) baseball team won their game.

For dinner, I was taken by my family to dinner at Cozumel restaurant in La Jolla for delicious coastal Mexican cuisine (somewhat different from northern Mexican food, which is my favorite). Got to watch a beautiful late afternoon sunset too.

One of the gifts I got was the 1963 world champions collectors' watch (remember the thread a couple of months back about limited edition watches with selected world championship years, by Avon).

I found out that one other (bigger) item I had asked for (that I am most excited about!) will not be received until Christmas. I told my sister of course I didn't mind if she combined my birthday and Christmas and went 1/2 and 1/2 with my mom on this, since it would have been out of her budget otherwise.

So I'll save that news for later; otherwise it will be anti-climactic. Smile

Hey Linda,

Happy birthday to you, a couple of days late. Very sorry about that, and I read in previous post by you that you had a nice day.

It was a big day for SD fans, beating the Colts. Being an old Miami dolphin fan, from the very beginning and through the bad years and then the very good years, I always hope their unbeaten record will go unmatched, and I have my wish for one more year. My Mom, who was a very devoted dolphin fan must be smiling, too.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Many happy returns and I wish you a very good year to come.
