Well, I missed that deadline. Wink

The Dodgers finished of a four-game sweep of the Diamondbacks on Thursday, headed to Norcal on Friday morning and took on the Jints at Oracle Park on Friday. And what a game--particularly for those who love great pitching. First, L.A. was facing a former Dodger in that Madera, in his first season in S.F., took the mound for the series opener. Trevor started for the Dodgers--and believe it or not, despite being in the NL West for a full season back in 2013, he has never faced the Jints in his career until now! But he's 1-0 against them as of this writing.

CT3's two-run shot was really the big hit in the game, and it was just enough as the Dodgers edged their archrivals, 2-1. It was an appropriate way to get the 132nd season of this fierce rivalry underway.

Just dropping by to thank your Dodgers for their help this weekend. Wink

Pujols is really one to admire. I have not seen any of the games he played for L.A. yet (Thursday night I watched Sho-time because my boys had an off day). But the things I am reading and hearing about him from Dodger fans, seems everyone likes the attitude he brings to the team and the leadership. As long as he has been around, I know this is nothing new!

Yes, we do. Smile We're helping our own cause out as well as yours. Winning the first two games at Oracle Park is big, but the Dodgers are going for the sweep today, and hopefully I'll be able to post about them accomplishing it in a couple of hours.

Now you can do that. The Dodgers are on fire again and they're 7-0 since Albert came to the team. Sweeping them in Oracle Park was really sweet! We get them at the Ravine again next weekend! Going to be a wild holiday weekend.

Yes! It was an 11-5 win for L.A., with Julio throwing a perfect game into the sixth inning. Honestly, though, for the first time ever I didn't mind seeing a Dodger pitcher lose his no-hitter--I felt the timing was off, and if it had taken place this week it would have been overshadowed by the others.

However, I was grateful for an early 11-0 lead, given the fact that only the back end of the bullpen was available.

I am hearing we could see both Belli and McKinstry back at the Ravine for the Jints series this weekend. If so that would be fantastic!

And the Dodgers manhandled the Asterisks, 8-1, in the first meeting of the two teams this year, last night at Minute Maid Park. CK with L.A.'s eighth consecutive quality start. Joe Kelly being booed by Astros fans. And beating Zack was the icing on the cake. Smile

Sad Eight-game win streak is over. This one wasn't fun.

But, finding the silver linings: Trevor got the ball for the Dodgers and still recorded a quality start, despite the loss. He had a rough first inning, throwing over 30 pitches and loading the bases, but in the end, he escaped with none of those runners scoring--only a solo shot home run to lead off for the Asterisks.

The Dodgers couldn't muster up much, and ended up losing, 5-2.

We will be playing in Houston this weekend, so I hope we get more of the team you played the first night. Wink

Looks like for the most part your Dodgers are keeping pace with my Padres until yesterday.

Yes, and if my team had not stumbled on Wednesday in Houston, they'd be back in first place now. "If." Sad

Returning to the Ravine, they edged the Water Hoarders for the fourth time this season, 4-3.

Well, the Dodgers lost in extras last night thanks to KJ entering the game in a 5-5 tie. *sigh* Coupled with the Padres' win in Houston, they now trail first place by 1.5 games again.

What is there to say, other than that the Jints must have gotten tired of the Dodgers beating them handily. Because after L.A. won the first four meetings between the teams this season (three of them a sweep in S.F. last weekend), the Battery Chuckers roared back to win the next three. They've reclaimed second place in the division, and trail the Padres by .5 games.

Sad

This series was really a letdown. And the biggest question mark to me is what's wrong with Mookie? Everyone thinks he's playing hurt but they deny it's anything major. First it was having some pain in his shoulder. And I've seen him take a lot very good pitches he would usually drive. They said yesterday he had some type of eye irritation that was giving him blurry vision or he couldn't keep one eye open. I hope it really isn't anything big. We need him to step up for us, and even now with Cody back and Corey still out he could be helping this team score more runs.

From your keyboard to his ears, Sunny! Mookie was back in the lineup and had a fine night for the Dodgers as they beat the Cardinals, 7-4.

Watched most of your game since ours was a day game, and was hoping Flaherty & the Cardinals would win Twisted Evil but both your team & the Battery Chuckers won their games. I did not realize how vulnerable Trevor is to the home run. He does seem to go very deep in most games, though.

Reportedly he is going to review with his coaches just why that is and work to improve it.

The Cardinals beat the Dodgers last night, 3-2, but it was a game full of superb defense and good pitching on both sides, albeit a "bullpen start" for the Dodgers. Both the Jints and the Padres lost, so no hit in the standings.

Quick check-in--the Dodgers closed out their homestand taking the series from the Cardinals, with an emphatic 14-3 win on Wednesday night. They're now on their first Eastern road swing of the season, beginning with three in Atlanta tonight.

And they notched a victory in the first game of the series, 9-5, although it was hardly that close.

Julio Urias struggled from the start, but constantly worked out of jams over the five innings he pitched. A first inning solo shot by Freddie Freeman was the only run he allowed, as the Braves enjoyed a short-lived lead.

The most remarkable thing about the Dodgers' scoring is that they compiled nine runs on only four hits.

Well, the Braves have tied the series by beating Clayton, 6-4. The Dodgers tried to claw back and were within a run late in the game, but a pinch-hit solo home run by Abraham Almonte off Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen gave Atlanta an insurance run. Just one of those losses, with a pair of non-quality starts so far, and Trevor getting the ball tomorrow.

So the Dodgers lost the series in Atlanta, and now move on to Pittsburgh.

Well, that was a game I'd like to see more of. Of course, these are the last place Pirates, but the Dodgers beat them, 5-3, tonight in the series opener at PNC Park. It was yet another quality start for Walker, who pitched seven scoreless innings and improved to 5-0. First, the bottom of the first got off to a crazy start with a homer-that-turned-into-an-out by Bucs leadoff hitter Ke'Bryan Hayes, who seemingly homered into the right field corner, only to have it challenged because Hayes didn't touch first base. The call was overturned, and Walker went into cruise mode while being backed with five runs. Thanks to Dodgers relievers, the shutout went up in flames in the eighth inning and the Pirates scored three to close the gap, but ended up losing, 5-3.

Pittsburgh ace JT Brubaker got the start and didn't make it out of the fifth, surrendering three runs to the Dodgers in that inning--highlighted by CT3's two-run shot--after handling them well over the first four.

El Gato returns tomorrow! I'm excited to see how he'll do. The last time we saw him in action was in the World Series, Game 6, in which he had a mediocre performance, but thankfully, the Dodgers won anyway! We need him to step up in a big way with the loss of Dustin this season.

Unfortunately, Sunny, our predictions were off. Sad

El Gato struggled and it ended up being a bullpen game anyway.

However, the Dodgers swept the series, and now return home this weekend.

Let's see, the Dodgers won the series over Texas as they returned for a homestand this weekend, but the games were dramatically different.

In Friday's opener, L.A. won behind CK

On Saturday, the Rangers turned the tables and roughed up Trevor a bit.

And the rubber match had all the makings of a decisive shutout for the Dodgers until the ninth inning. Leading 5-0, reliever Phil Bickford couldn't get an out and allowed a run before leaving the game. KJ almost tried to give it away, but buckled down and got the job done. *Whew.*
